This launch is open 24/7 and
can be used by anybody free of charge.
This area is a mecca for baitfish which attracts gamefish
like Stripers, Blues, Weakfish and Fluke which are always
close by. This is just one of those areas that you might have
to put some time into. There are many cuts and little islands
that are tailor made for a kayak.
I like to fish some of the points and cut banks by beaching
my kayak and wade fishing. After launching if you head East
under the bridge you'll be heading towards the inlet. because
the water really moves here. I like to go straight across
and follow the Loop Pkwy, where you can find some points of
land that form some little rips and back eddies. The fish
always seem to hang in or about these spots. If Fluke are
your game then you never have to go far. During the heart
of the Fluke season you will see a flotilla of boats in Reynolds
channel working the bottom with a lot of shorts but the occasional
keeper coming in too. Night tides can be great for the Weakies
but of course this takes some precautions and experience.
This a great area but it might take a little time to figure
out. A great deal of the time it will be as easy as following
the birds which always seem to be active here. |
